Starter & ridge cap

List starter strips and hip-and-ridge caps separately. Note the selected product and its linear-foot coverage.

Underlayment & barriers

Identify the underlayment and leak-barrier products specified for the roof. Check coverage and rolls needed.

Compare underlayment

Ventilation

Bring the ventilation products and quantities from your roof plan: ridge, box, power or solar vents.

Flashing & pipe boots

Include roof-edge metal, flashing details and pipe-boot sizes. Note finish, profile, dimensions and piece counts.

Fasteners & finishing items

Add the specified roofing nails, caps, clips and sealants. Check package size before setting the order quantity.

Shop nails & sealants

Use your roofing contractor’s measurements and the selected manufacturer’s instructions for final quantities and product compatibility. The roof planner is a starting point for a material order.

A roofing square is 100 square feet. A bundle is a package, and the area it covers varies by shingle. Use the coverage stated for the actual product you choose.

Shingles: Bundle quantity and square-foot coverage.
Starter & ridge cap: Linear-foot coverage per bundle.
Underlayment: Roll coverage and the specified product type.
Metal & fasteners: Length, dimensions and pieces per package.
